Het Nationale Ballet

Casey Herd has been principal with the Dutch National Ballet for eight years. Before coming to the Netherlands he danced with the American Ballet Theatre and Pacific Northwest Ballet.

He was awarded the Alexandra Radius Prize in 2012. Casey studied at the Ballet West Academy in Salt Lake City, Utah and the Kirov Academy in Washington D.C. He is a guestteacher at Summerschool Den Haag in August 2017.

Het Nationale Ballet

Dario Elia studied in Italy and later in London and New York. He was awarded with several scholarships for the La Scala Theatre Ballet School, The Royal Ballet School in London and the American Academy of Ballet.

Before moving to the Netherlands, Dario danced with the La Scala Theatre Ballet and Ballett Zurich in Switzerland. He joined the Dutch National Ballet in 2012.

Artistic Director Summerschool Den Haag

Mirella received her education at the Royal Balletschool of Antwerp and Nederlands Dans Theater (Young talent class by Ivan Kramar). She is the principal teacher of the international private school 'Balletschool Mabel Alter' and works as an independent international teacher for companies and schools. 

She has been a guest teacher at Britain’s national dance company Rambert based in an award-winning building in the heart of the cultural quarter on London’s South Bank, the internationally renowned British Dance Company Wayne McGregor, The Hague’s most vibrant company De Dutch Junior Dance Division and The leading inspirational youth company Project Sally Maastricht. She initiated Summerschool Den Haag in 2003.

Nationale Balletacadmie

Jane Lord studied at the National Ballet School of Canada. She danced as a principal with the Dutch National Ballet, performing works a.o. of Van Dantzig, Balanchine, Van Schayk, Ashton and Van Manen.

She has been a guestteacher at schools and companies including the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, International Danstheater and the first edition of Summerschool Den Haag in 2003. Jane joined the National Ballet Academy (NBA) in 2011 and has been Coordinator of the Pré-NBA & Scouting since 2014.

Nationale Balletacademie

Fred received his education at the Nel Roos Academie in Amsterdam. He was a principal with the Dutch National Ballet dancing leading roles in the classical and contemporary repertoire including choreographies from Van Dantzig, Van Schayk, Van Manen and Balanchine. 

Berlips followed the teachers course in the Vaganova technique. He is currently an international guest teacher and has been invited to teach at Summerschool Den Haag 2017. He has been teaching at the National Ballet Academy (NBA) since 1995. Throughout the years at NBA he has taught classical ballet, pas de deux and repertoire as well as being Coordinator for Het Nationale Ballet productions, the orientation and audition programmes.

Artist and Choreographer UK | 
N'da Dance

Mbulelo was born in Ugie, South Africa and trained at the Dance For All School in Cape Town (ZA), followed by London Studio Centre (GB) and San Francisco Academy of Ballet (US). He danced with Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, Rambert, Wayne McGregor, Didy Veldman and Inala featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

He created works for The Cape Town City Ballet, English National Ballet School, Rambert's Evening of New Choreography, commissions from The Print Room, Horniman Museum, DRAF London and The  Lowry for Goshka Macuga's 'End of Line'.

Jamy Schinkelshoek was born in Voorburg (NL). She started with ballet at the age of 8 and received her education at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

Jamy was awarded with a scholarship for promising talent in 2005 by the Dansersfonds '79 and an Encouragament Award in 2008 by Dansersfonds '79. She danced in Cannes with Compagnie Europa Danse. In 2007 she joined Introdans.

Nederlands Dans Theater

Mabel Alter danced with Ballet van de Nederlandse Opera, Sonia Gaskells Ballet Recitel, het Nederlands Ballet and became one of the pioneers of Nederlands Dans Theater. The repertoire she performed includes works by: Rudi van Dantzig, John Butler, George Balanchine and Hans van Manen. She founded The Mabel Alter Balletschool in 1970, the school was taken over in 2002 by Mirella Simoncini - who decided to keep the original name of the school (for almost 50 years now!). 

Mabel Alter has been a jury member for the national talentshow de Kunstbende and was in several Audition Commissions for “The Nutcracker” and “Abdallah” by De Dutch Don't Dance Division. As a guest teacher for Summerschool Den Haag she is specialized in working with beginners; giving numerous students their very first dance experience.

Senior Teacher Royal Conservatoire

Pierre received his education at the Paris Opera Ballet School. As a soloist with the Paris Opera he danced many parts in a wide repertoire. He later moved to Japan to teach and choreograph for the Noma Ballet studio and company. And returned to Europe as a "Professor für Tanz" at the Palucca Schule in Dresden. 

He has been a guest teacher at the Conservatoire National supérieur de Paris, Summerschool Den Haag and for companies such as: Ballet de Marseille and the UK based company of Matthew Bourne. Currently Pierre is a senior ballet teacher at the Dutch Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag.
